WELCOME TO RASHI

Life-Changing Education | World-Changing Students

Welcome to The Rashi School!

You simply need to walk through our halls and visit with our children to feel the vast intellectual curiosity and deep Jewish values that are the undercurrent of a Rashi education. From our Kindergarten students exploring themes of social justice through their fairness march, to our Grade 8 students demonstrating their research, critical thinking, writing, and public speaking skills in presenting their Capstone projects, it is evident that our children are becoming change makers through their transformative education. We often speak about developing our future Jewish leaders, and we see it happening in our children on a daily basis as they grow into strong, articulate, confident, and curious young people who will make our world a better place.

At Rashi, learning is empowering. Children engage in student centered and process oriented experiences that help them develop and master skills, take risks, reflect on and feel proud of their accomplishments. Our learning is also relational, as children work in a collaborative environment in which every voice is heard and respected. Children become kind and empathetic partners as they work together. Our learning is interdisciplinary, as children work through essential questions, draw from multiple perspectives, and engage with complex and challenging problems that weave together various content areas. Finally, our learning is justice oriented. Children spent purposeful time working to see the world as it is, exploring the causes of the world’s injustices, and engaging in Tikkun Olam (repairing the world).

It is incumbent upon us to ensure that future generations, that our children, are deeply proud of being Jewish. That they are growing up with a clear sense of their Jewish identity, knowing who they are as change makers, and that they have the agency to continue our people’s success and deep commitment to community. Rashi graduates are that future. And it starts in Pre-K.

Thank you for considering our school for your family. A Rashi experience awaits – come join us!

Best,
